I am happy to announce that MEHER TOORKEY, Indian pianist, has recorded a CD of Russian piano music.All profits from the sale of this CD go to 21st Century Tiger, a unique wild tiger conservation organization, because 100% of the funds raised support tigers in their natural habitat.21st century has funded projects in India, Sumatra, Cambodia, & the Russian Far East.All projects are comprehensively vetted to ensure that they have sound practical conservation and/ or scientific credibility & ar making a fundamental contribution to the conservation of wild tigers.

21st century Tiger is a partnership between Global Tiger Patrol & the Zoological Society of London. These individual UK organiztions have been working to save the tiger in the wild for a number of years.

Meher Toorkey was born in Bombay.She ranked first in India in the L.R.S.M. examination, winning the Sir Adrian Boult Cup and Shield conferred by the Royal Schools of Music.She was awarded a British Council Scholarship to study with the eminent Swiss pianist, Albert Ferber, himself a pupil of Rachmaninov. Meher has performed all over the UK, India & given recitals &
materclasses in America. She has played for Central Television & been frequently sponsored by the British Council & the Goethe Institut in India. Reviews speak of her 'rich, ardent and intelligent playing,' 'alive to breath-taking shifts of colour and impetus' and her 'distinguished performance of Rachmaninov.'

Meher saw her first wild tigers in India,& was so moved by the experience that she was determined to do everything within her power to save these critically endangered animals.Loss of habitat, & poaching have taken a heavy toll on the wild tiger & if we are to save him something has to be done NOW.

Meher Tooorkey has recorded Prokofiev's Visions Fugitives, Op 22 , & 6 Rachmaninov preludes.
