Alistair Digges : Biodata and Press coverage

Alistair Digges (tenor) was born in Glasgow (1982) and received his early musical training as a boy treble with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Junior Chorus and as a horn player in the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland. He studied singing at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama before moving to the Royal College of Music where he studies with Michel Vallat. His many awards and scholarships include the RCM Knights of the Round Table Prize and Mason and Ackroyd scholarships to the Benjamin Britten International Opera School. On stage Alistair has played the roles of Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore (Opera South), Tamino in Die Zauberflőte (Dartington Festival Opera), Dumain in Verlorene Liebesmüh (Opera Da Camera, Linz), Belfiore in La finta giardiniera , Arnalta in L’Incoronazione di Poppea, Sellem in The Rakes Progress, La Théière in L’enfant et les Sortilèges, and Schoolmaster/ Mosquito in The Cunning Little Vixen (RCM). He has performed extensively as an oratorio soloist throughout the cathedrals of the United Kingdom and in France and Austria, covering a broad repertoire including the Messiah, the Creation, the Seasons, Elijah, Crucifixion, Britten’s St Nicolas, the masses of Rossini and Puccini, and many other sacred works.
